Wayne Baird:- Guitar & Vocals

A singer, guitarist and songwriter, Wayne has performed and recorded authentic swing and r'n'b over the past 20 years. Bands as diverse as Rick Bryant's Jive Bombers, Sonny Day and the Blues News, Gentle Annie, and Trudi and the Exceptions have all called on his considerable guitar and vocal talents.

 

Phil Oxenham:- Bass & Vocals 

Phil has sung, taught and played rock and r'n'b throughout New Zealand and Australia since the 1970s. In New Zealand he has toured with the Sam Ford Verandah Band and played in Auckland with Blue Murder, Bluebird Wine and Midlife Crisis. He toured Western Australia with the Revivals and Bluebird Wine.
 
Stephen Clarke:- Keyboards 

In the 1960s Stephen was already a teenage virtuoso organist with '60s popsters the Challenge. Before joining the Alibis, Stephen worked with Push, the Teddy Boys, Bluebird Wine, Beats Working and Sonny Day and the Blues News, the Housemovers and Paper Sun.
 


Annette Hart :- Baritone sax  

Annette Hart adds the brass and class of the Baritone to the horn section baseline. Previously played with saxophone orchestra's, Jim Langabeer's 15 piece "Saxestra" and 4 piece "Sax4Sound" More recently in the studio with Evan Silva, and currently playing Pacific/Brazilian styles with AK Samba.
 
Rick Roff:- Trumpet 

Rick learnt the trumpet as a youngster in New York and made his first recording in a primary school band. He moved to New Zealand with his family in 1963 and played at the Surfside Ballroom in Milford and other Auckland clubs in the 1960s. Since then he's also helped promote live music in Auckland while running Rick's American Cafe at Victoria Park Market and Rick's Blue Falcon cafe in Parnell.

 

Mike Abbot:- Drums 

Mike comes from a strong family tradition of drummers sharing this calling with his three brothers. He has played drums professionally around New Zealand since the 1970s and worked extensively with blues, country, rock and latin bands. Some of his previous bands include Kantuta, the Midge Marsden band and Flying Doctors.

 

Mike Croft:- Alto sax

Mike's distinctive R'n'B tone has contributed to myriad live performances and recordings over the past 20 years. He has played sax in a variety of soul, blues, rock 'n' roll and jazz bands. These have included Johnny and the Jaguars, The Neighbours, Trudi and the Exceptions and Rick Bryant's Jive Bombers.
